If you regularly buy anime in Region 1 (aka North America), you probably know that last year anime distributor Geneon abruptly stopped releasing its anime titles leaving many series incomplete. Today, Funimation announced that it will be releasing nearly all of those unreleased Geneon titles. Anime fans have been bouncing off the wall with joy since about noon my time. Why? Because we honestly thought that some of those titles would never see legal release here in the US because they're niche titles. Me personally, I was watching 3 Geneon series closely: one rented from Netflix, two buying outright. The titles I was watching? Kyo Kara Maoh (the rental), Shonen Onmyouji, and Story of Saiunkoku. All three are among the Funimation rescues! Happy day indeed. Also among the title rescues is the second season of Rosen Maiden. I'll rent that whenever Netflix offers it. I don't know when these titles will see the light of day, but the long dark through the tunnel of doubt looks to be over. And the light at the end of the tunnel does not appear to be an oncoming train for a change.

Making Jello just now, I spilled the boiling water over the fingers of my left hand. Then I dropped the Jello package -- with the powder still inside, mind you -- into the bowl of boiling water. Ouchies. My left index finger bore the brunt of the burnt. Now it's stinging mightily.

This post is coming to you from Shito. That's the new name of my old Toshiba laptop. As I guessed, the UPS delivery came while I was away on my morning errand. The driver left the box outside my door. Fortunately my neighborhood is the kind of place where you can do that with relative security. I started it up with no problems. Also as I had guessed, the start-up went through the brand new Windows Vista setup procedure. Since I had the chance to give the laptop a new name, I picked Shito. I easily connected to my wireless network and promptly downloaded a new copy of my security software. Now it's mostly a matter of (1) reinstalling (a.k.a. reacquiring) the 3rd party software I use and (2) getting my data files transferred from either the backup disks or the rental machine.

You may remember that within 1 week of buying this laptop, the keypad for the number 6 popped off. I never replaced it. I didn't say word one about the keypad in my trouble report because it's no longer covered by the hardware warranty (doesn't affect functionality clause). Well some kind soul at the tech center replaced the number 6 key gratis. Thank you to whomever you are!

According the various tracking sites, my repaired laptop should be delivered sometime today. I have to go out a couple of times today to run errands. With my luck the UPS driver will come during one of those times and drive off again because I'm not home. If I understood Toshiba's repair notes correctly, the problem was a bad hard drive. They replaced the hard drive & reimaged it. I assume that means they restored the hard drive to the initial as-new software configuration. I'll have to restore my 3rd party software somehow. I got most (all?) of my data files when I had the local tech guy pull my software off the hard drive. But I don't think I got all of the 3rd party software I use. le sigh. Hubby & I are still discussing getting a new machine anyway. We need a second machine to replace a very old machine that we use as a backup. We may move the Toshiba to that location and upgrade to a more powerful laptop for my daily use. (Current contender is one of HP's entertainment laptops.)

Well not here but I made one to redmoon_icons I know not everyone on my flist knows that I have an icon comm so Im kinda repimping it. I dont update it that often and when I do I rarely say so here. But since everyone has been so nice and offering me help, I thought it was only fair to let you all see how they turned out. Of course I think I did a good job and then see another icon dump to a comm and go...wow my stuff doesnt look that good XD Oh well, its reason enough to keep practicing. And considering if you look at my first posts over there...Ive improved 8D.

DEAR GODS OF ANIME LET THIS BE TRUE!!!

Ive listened to the trailer over and over and and I cant tell since Karasuba only has 1 line in it BUT she does sound alittle like Kuchiha (a little) but as I said it might just be my Romi Paku loving ears hearing it that way. I WILL BE BEYOND EXCITED IF THIS IS TRUE!! But with wiki, until its confirmed elsewhere (like ANN or the actual Sekirei site) Im taking with grain o salt. She also sounds a bit like Medusa from SE as well. Very hard to tell (Im much better with guys unless Romi is using her "guy" voice, which she's not).

Im really impressed with the lack of manga related spoilers so far in the anime thread over on AS. Sekirei is a HUGE one (which obviously Ive posted about soo...not really a spoiler if you read it ^^;;) but anime only watchers will have to wait. Im alittle concerned when the anime starts though. Thankfully for AS new spoiler policy deleting anything wont be bad. Ive had to delete one so far, again not bad since alot of time people start comparing anime/manga before the series even begins.

Argh! Firefox keeps crashing on me making it very difficult to get anything done online right now. I suppose this means I should consider switching to M$IE until the next update but... >.> FWIW, the instability began after I updated to FF3.0 I have no idea if it's possible to switch back to the early version anymore. *sigh*

And we now return you to your regular reading. :P (Actually, I'm finally feeling a little more alive again, but the browser instability is making for difficult anything. I'm currently on Haku because I got so fed up with Mokkun, but will be going back down to Mokkun once I take care of some email. ^^; )

I spoke with Toshiba service yesterday. The lady gave me a repair order & told me to take the comp to the nearest UPS Store for shipment to one of Toshiba's repair centers. She said there was the possibility that the repairs would cost me something but it was likely that there would be no charge since the problem was most likely hardware. I expected to have a shipping charge at the UPS Store but there wasn't one. Yay. In theory, my computer is winging its way to a repair person who can make it work. Hopefuly at no charge to me.

I know some of my flisters are also members of AnimeOtaku forums and we all know the site has been down.  Well I finally found D on irc today and he told me pretty much...site is dead for now.  Something with the server...which sucks cuz we just moved servers.  Problem is Fearless Leader aka Ranma is busy as hell in rl and doesnt have the time to fix it.  According to his blog (which he rarely updates) he's engaged and D said he's house hunting.  This on top of the 2-3 jobs he normally has.  So... in a nutshell, AO will more then likely be back, we just dont know when.

Sigh.
